Processing emotional trauma requires a safe and supportive environment. As a result, early work will focus on laying the foundation for exploration of the trauma by assessing your natural resources and healthy self-regulation skills. We will then move on to explore how the experience is impacting you currently and identify any cognitive distortions that perpetuate feelings associated with the event. Treatment will also include creating a trauma narrative that will help to provide resolution of symptoms associated with the event. Healing from emotional trauma can be an intense but very rewarding experience with the right support and willingness to commit to the process. Let us help you heal.

There is something so empowering and liberating in accepting and understanding that in order to be of service to anyone -in any capacity- you must prioritize yourself. Contrarily, the idea of prioritizing yourself can feel like one of the most intimidating, uncomfortable, and ungenerous activities in which to be engaged. Here at First Love Yourself Counseling our mission is to help increase your confidence in order to gain guidance, insight, and healing into your life experiences through a top notch, confidential, and therapeutic process.

Through our supportive therapeutic process, we want to help you elevate to a place where you can experience the liberation of being able to F.L.Y. Allow us to join you on your journey of self discovery and healing. Trauma therapy near me, Black therapist, mental therapy, boundary setting, EMDR.

Is Telemental health

right for me?

First Love Yourself Counseling offers various services with an emphasis on bringing the modern world into therapy as we offer 'therapy beyond the couch'. Telemental health is the primary mode of delivery of services where sessions take place via a HIPPA compliant application called Doxy.Me.  Walk and Talk therapy occurs outdoors-weather permitting. Group therapy/Support Soirees sessions are offered at the office location.

Telemental health is the use of virtual technology to provide behavioral health services. At First Love Yourself Counseling we use a video conferencing platform called Doxy.Me. Doxy.Me is simple and convenient to use. With this platform there is no need to download software or create an account. Clients only need access to a browser on a computer, tablet, or phone with a camera and microphone.

At the time of your service, you will enter the private room to begin your telemental health session.

Follow the steps outlined below to guide you on how to get started.
